install for English

For Unix like OS

1) Install senna

> svn co http://svn.razil.jp/senna/trunk senna
> cd senna
> ./configure --prefix=/usr --without-mecab
> make
> sudo make install

For English user, please execute configure with '--without-mecab' option.

If you want to install MySQL binding, execute commands below. MySQL binding description is in MySQL binding.

2) Install MySQL

If you use Senna with Mysql, you have to install patched MySQL.

Get MySQL source from below. http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/

> cd mysql-4.0.28
> patch -p1 < ../senna/bindings/mysql/mysql-4.0.26.senna.diff

2ind-patch is the patch which make MySQL enable to use fulltext index and normal index bothly.

> patch -p1 < ../senna/bindings/mysql/mysql-4.0.26.senna.2ind.diff

Aftet patched, you have to execute autotools.

bison 1.75, autoconf 2.59, automake 1.8(aclocal 1.8) are required.

> libtoolize -c -f
> aclocal-1.9
> autoheader
> automake-1.9 -c -a -i
> autoconf
> touch sql/sql_yacc.yy

And execute configure, make, make install. in configure, you have to specify --with-senna and --without-mecab option.

> CFLAGS="-O3 -mcpu=pentium4 -I/usr/local/include" \
CXX=gcc CXXFLAGS="-O3 -mcpu=pentium4 \
-felide-constructors -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti -I/usr/local/include" \
LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/lib" \
./configure \
--prefix=/usr \
--enable-assembler \
--with-charset=ujis --with-extra-charsets=complex \
--enable-thread-safe-client \
--with-big-tables \
--with-named-curses-libs=/lib/libncurses.so.5 \
--localstatedir=/var/lib/mysql \
--with-unix-socket-path=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock \
--with-senna \
--without-mecab
> make
> sudo make install

Copy config file.

> cp -p ./support-files/my-medium.cnf /etc/my.cnf

Init database.

> sudo ./scripts/mysql_install_db

Change owner user and group.

> sudo chown -R mysql:mysql /usr/local/var

Start MySQL server.

> sudo ./support-files/mysql.server start

Check whether MySQL server runs or not.

> mysqladmin version

Copy script for auto-execute.

> sudo cp ./support-files/mysql.server /etc/init.d/mysql

After you install, check with check MySQL with Senna whether proparlly installed or not.
